Nineteen programs with pay the state publishes, drawn to one dollar scale. The bottom of each ladder is pay at program start. The top is pay by program completion. The state files 46 programs under the occupation code for this trade. Its annual report publishes pay at 22 of them; the other 24 are counted here and not priced. 6 of these programs list a starting rate below Florida's minimum wage. Those rates are the ones in each program's registered standards, and pay on the job has to meet the minimum wage in force. Florida publishes both figures as annual dollars. The hourly rates here are those figures divided by 2,080 hours, which is the divisor each wage cell in that report divides by to an exact cent. Check the address on a program's registration before you go: it's usually an office or a hall, not a job site. Nineteen of those 22 are on this board. That training is not here: Florida puts the contracting of it under a different chapter of its own law, with the State Fire Marshal rather than the plumbing statute, so four programs are on the sprinkler fitter board instead.
